Respect and reverence is seen once again in the advertisement with the use of the patriotic red, white, and blue coloring scheme. Even the mans blue outfit has stripes on it to complete the whole U.S.A. loyalty theme. The blue coloring in the background of the advertisement adds to the trendy style of cigarette the company is trying to sell. It helps the ad to make cigarettes more pleasing to the eyes in comparison to a red or orange background. Next, it is noticeable that the surgeon generals warning is in the bottom left corner of the ad. The funny thing about the warning, though, is that it has to be the least dreadful of all the warnings. Have you ever read a book, seen a movie, or watched a television show where the villain creates a colossal clone army that is unmatched by any other. The three forms of cloning that stand out are reproductive cloning, therapeutic cloning, and cloning for scientific research. Some supporters of reproductive cloning are couples that are u nable to bear a child or individuals who wish to raise a child by themselves. Another group that seeks reproductive cloning are those who want their child to be born with specific traits with the help of egg donation. On the other hand, therapeutic cloning is the creation of a clone not for the purpose of raising a child, but in order to harvest stem cells from the embryo (Woodward 85, 15, 33, 34). Does Age Matter In Relationships free essay sample

There Is a cllche that says Age Is Just a number. Frankly, age does matter. Many people feel uncomfortable when they see a couple where one partner Is much older than the other one. Some consider a younger one to be a fortune-hunter/gold digger trying to win an older fool, or the older one Is considered to be a cradle- grabber, appealed by the youth and beauty. As we mature, the biggest priority in our long-term relationships tends to be compatibility. We long for someone who understands us, appreciates us and cares for us, above all else. We all have dfferent ideas as to what is acceptable to us. We dont choose who we fall in love with, it Just happens. So how can we choose what age the person we fall in love with should be? Almost all the time, we realize too late that love is blind. Many may argue that with age comes maturity. I beg to differ. Maturity is taught by life’s experiences. Many men and women learn form events in their lives. Events from their childhood may shape their outlook on marriage and relationships. They carry the lessons from these experiences into their adult years. When getting into a relationship, there are several determining factors to consider, like: religious beliefs, common hobbies, families being compatible, disciplining the children, etc; age is but a trivial matter. Why then is age such a huge deal in our society? Must we conform to society’s norms? Or do we stay true to ourselves and our feelings? Feelings remain rock solid, whilst society’s norms fade fast. Some women tend to favour older men, only because they have financial status. These men do not necessarily mature emotionally. Does this make the relationship socially acceptable? There is no appropriate age when we feel strongly about another individual. â€Å"Age does not matter in love. †

Operations and management were not successfully integrated as â€Å"equals† because of the entirely different ways in which the Germans and Americans operated: while Daimler-Benz’s culture stressed a more formal and structured management style, Chrysler favored a more relaxed, freewheeling style (to which it owed a large part of its premerger ? nancial success). In addition, the two units traditionally held entirely different views on important things like pay scales and travel expenses. As a result of these differences and the German unit’s increasing dominance, performance and employee satisfaction at Chrysler took a steep downturn. There were large numbers of departures among key Chrysler executives and engineers, while the German unit became increasingly dissatis? ed with the performance of the Chrysler division. Chrysler employees, meanwhile, became extremely dissatis? ed with what they perceived as the source of their division’s problems: Daimler’s attempts to take over the entire organization and impose their culture on the whole ? rm. For instance, following the announcement of the AOLTimeWarner deal, a front-page Wall Street Journal article (Murray et al. 2000) discussed possible determinants of success or failure for the merger (such as synergies, costs, competitor reaction, and so forth). The only clear discussion of possible cultural con? ict is a single paragraph (out of a 60-column-inch article) revealing how the â€Å"different personalities† of AOL’s For instance, one joke told at Chrysler is: â€Å"How do you pronounce DaimlerChrysler? ‘Daimler’ the ‘Chrysler’ is silent. † Steve Case and TimeWarner’s Gerald Levin re? ect cultural differences between the two ? rms. While culture may seem like a â€Å"small thing† when evaluating mergers, compared to product-market and resource synergies, we think the opposite is true because culture is pervasive.
